Dr. Lyndsay Elliott’s approach to therapy emphasizes
a collaboration of psychodynamic psychotherapy, interpersonal
therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and coaching when appropriate.
Dr. Elliott often finds that her clients are incredibly gifted
and interesting people, who go through transitions in their life
which cause them difficulty. In an effort to deepen awareness
and move through such transitions, therapy helps to focus on
each client's unresolved or unprocessed issues and conflicts
(that he or she may not be consciously aware of), looking beneath
the surface to link early family and peer experiences to current
unwanted behaviors and experiences.
Dr. Elliott’s practice is devoted to helping adults, adolescents,
families and couples address difficulties in their relationships
to achieve better communication skills, increase trust and foster
intimacy while helping to express feelings and needs. Although
effective with a variety of ages, she feels particularly connected
to adolescents, young adults and those experiencing the “quarter-life
crisis.” Therapy is individually tailored and will help
to emphasize an exploration of the client's issues and relationships,
yielding insight, empowerment, and the promise of a more fulfilling
life. Dr. Lyndsay Elliott believes that therapy is most powerful
when insights arise from within, driven by a quest for understanding
guided by an experienced, caring, and perceptive therapist with
whom you can feel completely comfortable with.
